May PPOW- Rare Birds

Rare Birds
Kakapo
Kakapo is a rare bird;
You’ve probably never heard.
They live in New Zealand,
And have no hands.
They are almost extinct.
Not even linked to others.
Kakapo can’t fly,
Even though they may try.
There’s only 124 left,
That we know of yet.
Wild they roam,
Only have one home.
Kakapo hunt like tigers,
But never like spiders.
All of them stick together,
Also have many feathers.
They were almost wiped out
Because there was a sprout,
In mammals called feral cats.
Who were tired of rats.
They decided to hunt Kakapo,
Due to the fact that they have more food.
Kakapo are very majestic creatures,
Who deserve to be here.

Orange-Bellied Parrot
Parrots aren’t very rare,
But these ones we must share.
An Orange-Bellied Parrot
Might look like a farret.
They migrate during winter,
As fast as a sprinter.
These parrots fly all the time,
And never leave slime.
They live in Australia for part of the year,
Without any fear.
Only 150 left in existence,
And are very distance.
They meet with each other;
Mostly the mothers.
Orange-Bellied Parrots hide in the wild,
And have lots of style.
They eat lots of fruit and seeds.
Many will also eat weeds.
The oldest they get is around four years old,
And are not told.
Many people don’t understand
That they don’t have a native land.
Orange-Bellied Parrots move all around,
Not even with one frown.
They need to be here
Because it’s not right for them to disappear.

Forest Owlet
Forest Owlets are critically endangered,
And are quite strangers.
Everyone doesn’t know,
That we, the humans, cut down their home.
All of them have to find another,
To help each other.
It’s not right what we do,
Cause we don’t know what they’ve been through.
Forest Owlets always lose the one,
That makes them feel like they can run.
They live in India,
Never found in Libya.
They have, but one native home,
That keeps getting smaller as humans grow.
Now non-profit organizations are around,
To help keep them bound.
Nobody really knew about Forest Owlets
Because they’re not a pet.
They are only found in the wild,
And not in a pile.
All of them have really flat faces,
And are not found in many places.
Forest Owlets are really unique,
And do not need to shrink.

Rare Birds
Now you have learned about three rare birds,
With many words.
Never forget about them,
They can be referred to as rare gems.
How would you like to be a bird,
You couldn’t really say any words.
You can’t tell people to stop,
When they go out and chop.
All of them are super tough,
Even those that have lots of fluff.
Kakapo, Orange-Bellied Parrots, and Forest Owlets,
Will have no regrets.
Human’s will though,
And they may blow.
Remember all these birds as fearless,
The tougher they are;

The better for the future.

The Zodiac Killer

The Zodiac Killer
On the cold night of December 20th, 1968, two high school sweethearts are on their first date. Everything seems to be going great, they are planning on going to a Christmas ball at the school. It’s seems to be a harmless night full of fun for the kids, but the night’s about to get cut short. They pull up to Lake Herman Road, or Lover’s Lane.
Around 11:00 p.m the kids are having a good time until a mysterious car pulls up next to them. They are at first unfazed, but the car just sits there not moving. The boy gets out to confront the driver, to the dismay of the girl. To the kid’s surprise the driver gets out first. The boy opens his mouth but sees a glint of light come from the man’s hand.
The kid turns around to get back in the car, but is stopped short. He falls to the ground like a rock. The woman hears the shot and gets out of the car. She sprints away from the scene and gets 87 feet away before being terminated.
This is the first killing in a string of murders that will baffle police and bring chaos to northern California. The police arrive at the scene not too long after the murder. All they find is a grisly scene with no evidence of the murderer’s identity.
July 4th, 1969, another murder occurs four miles from the original murder of the high schoolers. Except this time it was Darlene Ferrin and Michael Mageau, a couple from the area. Reportedly a car parked next to them, then left 10 seconds later. After another 10 minutes the same car parks behind them. The driver then exits the vehicle and walks towards the car.
A glint of light appears in the man’s hand. It’s too late before the couple notices, and the driver shoots Michael, and some of the bullets hit Darlene too. The driver of the car is satisfied and takes his leave, but when he hears moaning from the car he turns around and unloads another magazine into Mageau.
Someone hears the shots and calls the police not too long after. The ambulances arrive and take the couple to the nearest hospital. Sadly, Darlene dies but Michael survives the twisted assault.
Later the police get a call from a man who claims to be the murderer of both couples and is proud of what he’s done. The police track the signal, but only find a phone booth outside a gas station, not even a full mile from the police station.
A while after 3 newspaper publishers got letters from the killer. It said that if they didn’t put the letters into the newspaper he would go on a killing spree the next weekend. They obeyed his orders then the police chief Jack E. Stiltz demanded that the killer send another letter with more information.
The killer then wrote to the officer with more information and a coded message saying that when the police decoded it they would already have him. On August 8, 1969 Donald and Bettye Harden cracked the code. The coded message included the killer talking about how killing was fun and he was collecting slaves for the afterlife.
Not even a month after another murder, a second one occurs, this time a taxi driver. The taxi driver was driving to Maple street in Presidio Square. For no exact reason the driver went one street farther than the destination. The passenger then took out a 9mm pistol and shot the driver, took his wallet and keys then left the scene.
Some teenagers saw the man wiping down the car and called the police. Somehow the details got mixed up and the police started looking for a black male, instead of a white, and drove right past him. The police still don’t know how the details got so mixed.
Another attack March 20, 1970. Kathleen Johns is driving to her mom’s with her 10 month old daughter. Johns is also 7 months pregnant. As she is driving, behind her a car is honking and flashing its lights. Johns pulls over and the man tells her that one of her wheels is wobbling. The man offers to fix the bad wheel.
After he is done she gets back on her way to her mom’s house. But then the whole wheel falls off. The man offers for them to get in his car and drop them off at the nearest gas station. They get in, but the man drives back and forth next to a gas station for 1 hou but he doesn’t answer the question. Eventually, Johns asks him to pull over and she gets out of the car. She sprints into a field and hides in the grass. The man gets out holding a flashlight looking for her claiming to not want to hurt her. He gives up after a while and drives away.
Johns hitchhikes a ride to the police station. She tells them and they show her the sketch of the supposed attacker, and she instantly recognizes the man as the attacker.
About four months afterwards, the Zodiac sends another letter to the police. The letter features a diagram for a bomb he claims he will use on a school bus. He then sends a letter to the newspaper Chronicle threatening to use the bomb if they didn’t publish the exact words he used in the letters.
The zodiac killer then went on to claim responsibility for many other murders. Police still don’t know the identity of the murderer.

14th birthday

14th Birthday

This is time I went to Joe’s Karting and AMC for my 14th birthday. I brought Jack, Cain, Logan, and I. When we first left for Council Bluffs we stopped and and went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. We all tried the heat meter challenge. Where you eat all of the flavors starting from coolest to hottest.
We all got past round one with no problems but, Logan can’t handle hot food so he chickened out after Honey BBQ. Jack, Cain, and I tore through Mild, Summer Heat, and Flaming Ranch. After that it was the signature Hot Wings Cain nearly died from trying two at once.
Jack ate all six of them in like 20 seconds and shouted, “NNNEEEXXTTT.” I soon followed Jack, then Cain. Now it was Searing hot wings Jack and I had little to no trouble but Cain had difficulties it took him about two minutes.
Now there was only 7 flavors to go. Next was the Flamethrower Buffalo style wings. Did I mention that we did it all without drinks. Cain nearly threw up and Jack was acting like there wasn’t any problem. Jim aka Jack’s dad and my dad and I nearly quit.
Now we were down to six flavors now came it came to atomic fireball.  We all decided that we were now allowed to have drinks.

Cain was now struggling he gave in with two wings to go and used the napkin he used to wipe the sauce off to wipe down his whole face, bad move. Now after every flavor there was a five minute burn period. Just as we were getting ready to order the next flavor the cut us off because we were apparently making a scene and then we left. Then we went and saw the movie When the Game Stands Tall. It was a pretty good movie.
Soon after we went across the street to Joe’s Karting. We set up a best of 5 for private races for 25 laps. We got our helmets and karts Jack chose one with a black body and green and white lighting down the side. Cain chose a red body with a racing flag with flames on it down the side. Logan went after yellow body and chose the one with a Puma logo on the back that said eat my dust.
Jim both chose a green body and red Mountain Dew logo and my dad chose that was metalic gold and said the Yellow Blur down the side. Finally I chose a red body kart with metalic black, and silver stripes. Then we picked our starting order.
I was in front since it was my birthday then it was Jack, then it was Logan, then Cain, then Jim, and then my dad. now we could start the race the first three races were individual then the last two would be teams.
Then the chart popped up that read
  1. Cody- Cosmic
  2. Jack- Black out
  3. Cain- Finisher
  4. Logan- Puma Krt
  5. Jim-MTN Dew
  6. Tim- Yellow Blur
Now we could start we let use get one practice lap in the we were off. I floor it immediately then it was Cain who beat Jack off the line, then Logan and Jack were neck and neck. Then the Yellow blur rockets past Jim, Logan, Jack, and Cain until its right next to me. Then we hit the first turn dad was going to fast and hit the wall then Cain, Jack, and Logan caught back up and it stayed that way until the last lap when Logan cut in front of Cain, and Jack then hit the wall causing them to brake and I thought i was home free when the Yellow blur speeds past me in the last second I thought I had it but he beat me 25.04 to 25.02 that got me mad.
The first race was
-Tim
-Cody
-Jim

I won the next race so I had 5 points, Logan had 0, Jack had 4, Cain had 4, Jim had 5 and, dad had 4. Now we started to pick teams I had Cain, and Jack. Logan had dad and Jim.
My team won the first three races and swept them but we still did the last two.
Afterwards we went back to my house for cake and ice cream to play football in the backyard.

the Great Biography of Bob Marley February PPOW

Bob Marley
Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer, musician, and songwriter. He served as a world ambassador for reggae music and sold more than 20 million records in his career. Making him the first superstar to come from the third world. Which is developing countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Bob Marley a man who started a great starting bloom in global culture.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica. In 1963 Bob Marley formed a group with his friends called Wailing Wailers. The Wailers’ break came in 1972, once they done a contract with Island Records. Bob Marley had sold 20 million plus records with in his career, making him the first international superstar. Which is where he had come from the Third World. He had died in Miami, Florida, on May 11, 1981.
Bob Marley helped introduce reggae music into the world and still is one of the genre’s most beloved artist to this day. The son of a black teenage mother and very older, later absent white father, he spent his younger years at St. Ann Parish, in the rural village known to be Nine Miles. One of his friends as a child in St. Ann was Neville “Bunny” O’Riley Livingston. Bob Marley and Neville went to the same school and also shared a love for music. Later Livingston’s father and Marley’s mother became involved. They had all lived together for a time in kingston, according to Christopher John Farley’s “Before the legend: The Rise of Bob Marley.”
Coming into kingston in the late 1950s, Marley lived in Trench Town, one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods. He struggled in poverty, but he found inspiration in the music all around him. Trench town had a number of successful local performers and was considered the Motown of Jamaica. Sounds from the U.S. also come over the radio and throughout jukeboxes. Marley liked the artists Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, and the Drifters. Marley and Livingston put most of their time with music.
A local record producer with the name of Leslie Kong, liked Marley’s vocals and had him record a few singles, the first one was called “Judge Not,” released in 1962. While he did not do well being a solo artist, Marley found some success joining forces with his friends. In 1963, Marley, Livingston, and Mcintosh formed the band Wailing Wailers. Their first single, “Simmer Down,” went on the top of the Jamaican charts in January 1964. By this time, the group also included Junior Brathwaite, Beverley Kelso, and Cherry Smith.
The group became very popular in Jamaica, but they had difficulty making it financially. Braithwaite, Kelso, and Smith left the group. The remaining members went apart for a long time. Marley had gone to the U.S. where his mother was now living. However, before he left, he married Rita Anderson on February 10, 1966.
After eight months, Marley returned to Jamaica. He grouped up with Livingston and Macintosh to form the Wailers. Around the time Marley was exploring his spiritual side and shown an interest. The Rastafari movement started in Jamaica in 1930s and got its beliefs from many places, including Jamaican nationalist Marcus Garvey, the Old Testament, and their African heritage and culture.
For a long period of time in the late 1960s, Marley worked with pop singer Johnny Nash. Nash scored a worldwide hit with Marley’s song “stir It Up.” The Wailers had also worked with producer Lee Perry during this time of era; some of their successful songs together were “Trench-town Rock,” “Soul Rebel” and “Four Hundred Years.” The Wailers added two new members in 1970: bassist Aston “Family Man” Barrett and his brother, drummer Carlton “Carlie” Barrett. The following year, Marley worked on a movie soundtrack in Sweden with Johnny Nash.
The Wailers got their break in 1972 when they had landed a contract with Island Records, discovered by Chris Blackwell. For the first time, the group had gone to the studios to record a full album. The result was the critically acclaimed “Catch a Fire.” To support the record, the Wailers toured throughout Britain and the U.S. in 1973, performing in an opening act for both Bruce Springsteen and Sly and the Family Stone. That same year, the group released their second full album, “Burnin”, featuring the hit song “I Shot the Sheriff.” Rock legend Eric Clapton had given a cover of the song in 1974, and it had became a Number one  hit in the U.S.
Already a much-admired star in Jamaica, Marley was going on his way to becoming an international music icon. He made the U.S. music charts with an album Rastaman Vibration in 1976. One track stands out as an expression of his devotion to his faith and his interest in the political change: “War.” The song’s lyrics were taken from the speech by Haile Selassie, the 20th century Ethiopian emperor who has been seen as a spiritual leader in the Rastafarian movement. A battle cry for freedom from oppression, the song discusses a new Africa, one without the racial hierarchy enforced by colonial rule.
Marley had a health scare in 1977. He got treatment in July of that year on a toe he had injured earlier that year. After discovering cancerous cells in his toe, doctors suggested amputation. Marley refused to have surgery, however, because his religious beliefs banned amputation.
Traveling to Europe, Bob Marley past unbelieved treatment in Germany, and was after that he able to fight off the cancer for months. It soon became clear that Marley didn’t have that much time to live, however, so Bob Marley set out to return to his beloved Jamaica one last time. Sadly, he would not manage to complete the journey, dying in Miami, Florida, on May 11, 1981. Shortly before his death, Marley had received the Order of Merit from the Jamaican government. He had also been awarded the Medal of Peace from the U.N. in 1980. Loved by the people of Jamaica Bob Marley was given a hero’s send-off. More than 30,000 people paid their respects to the musician during his memorial service, held within the National Arena in Kingston, Jamaica. Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt sang and the Wailers performed at the ceremony.

Bob Marley achieved several great accomplishments during his lifetime, including becoming a world ambassador for reggae music, earning process onto the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame in 1994, and selling more than 20 million records - making him the first international superstar to come from the Third World.

Five Nights At Freddy's

Five Nights At Freddy's

This story has a lot of backgrounds, but trust me they are not good backgrounds. I wanted a job a long time ago. I found one in the newspaper and thats when it began.
“Oh wow, this job looks new and improved,” said the person. He went into the building and he seen what looked ok, but it really wasn't. He saw a bear, bunny, and a bird animatronics standing up on the stage with kids jumping up and down. He walked over to the office and asked for a job there.
The mayor told him, “Kid, you will need guts to work here, you up to it?” He was stunned and thought “Guts?” He looked at the mayor hopeless. Then he could hear the bear and the bunny talking to each other like they had something incommand.
“Mr. Mayor? What are these things and how can the talk?” He stuttered without even thinking. The mayor got up and told him everything. “These are what we call animatronics. The purple bunny is named Bonnie. The Bird holding her cupcake is named Chica. Now the big one, is Freddy Faz Bear. There is a story about the bit of 1987.” The Mayor was saying. “What story?” Mikey wanted to know badly. “Foxy the pirate, killed a little girl by eating her head off.” Mickey looked at him scared.
The mayor stood up and told him if he was to get a job here he would have to be a night guard. “Now young boy what’s your name?” The mayor asked kindly. “ My name is Mikey.” Mikey told him. Mikey looked over to the place with the curtains closed.
“Sir may I ask you what that is behind the curtains?” The mayor stood up and walked out there with Mikey. “This is Foxy. He was shut down because he went out of control.” The mayor exclaimed while opening the closed curtains. Mikey saw an old torn up fox looking animatronic.
“Why is he out of order and why is he torn to bits?” Mikey asked curiously. The mayor looked at him with a fear like in his eyes. “Mikey, Foxy can’t be moved or touch understood?” The mayor said fearfully. “But why can’t he be like the other animatronics?” Mikey walked over to Foxy and looked at him carefully.
“Because,” The mayor claimed. “ He just can’t and you will find out soon.” The mayor went to the back and grabbed his suit. “Here you will need this.” The mayor threw it at him. Mickey took it and went into the men’s bathroom. He got dressed into the suit. The mayor told him that he was going out and told him to watch the place while he is out. Mikey walked out to the dinner room and couldn’t find bonnie. “Bonnie?”
“Hello There! Hahaha,” Bonnie said behind him without him knowing. “Oh there you are bonnie,” Mikey said in a scared way. “I thought you were supposed to be up on the stage?” All Bonnie did was stare at him, then his eyes went black with a little white in the middle. Mickey backed up and hit something.
“ARG! well what do we have there laddy.” Mikey looked back to see Foxy behind him. “F-F-Foxy you're not supposed to be out?!”  Mikey was shocked in fear. “I’m nice believe me, I want to be yer friend!” Foxy said in a kind way. Mikey stood silently looking right at Foxy.  Mikey told Foxy that he would be his friend.
So one night Mikey was sitting in the office and then all of a sudden Chica was by his window. He turned on the lights to see what was out there and seen her. “Chica?!” Mikey screamed in a little fear. He runs up to the door and shuts it fast. “Mikey, Would you like some pizza?” Chica softly asked.  Mikey shook his head while Chica walked off sadly.
By the time it was four A.M Foxy came and knocked on the door. Mikey looked at the camera to see Foxy holding stuff for him. Mikey slowly opens the door for Foxy to come in. Foxy slowly  puts a box of pizza down and a soda. Mikey took it and waited for six A.M. When the clock turned six A.M Mikey was done with his job and packed up to leave.
Foxy looks at Mikey while he was leaving the building. Foxy wanted to jump out and give him a hug, but Foxy knows he can’t. Mikey slowly leaves the place and wasn’t seen for years.  Every night Foxy would just sit there and start to cry a little. Then one day someone came in and asked for the job for the rest of his life.
“Mr. Mayor? I would love this job forever. May I keep my job here?” The mystery person said. “Yes if you really want to then you may.” The Mayor left the building. Foxy came out around four A.M and was ready to scare the new person. Foxy runs as fast as he can then when he gets there screams loud. He stopped screaming and seen who it was.The new guy looked at Foxy, and Foxy’s bottom jaw falls down.

“Hello Foxy,” He said nicely “ Long time no see?” “ARG! It’s Mikey everyone he’s back!” Foxy runs up to him and gives him a hug. Foxy couldn’t believed what happened that night. But this story, Its just the beginning.

Winter land

The Winter land
One day there is a little kid hoping for winter to finally come, When she went to school she realized that she is the only one that is wearing different cloths then all the others. She was so embarrassed, she went to her home when school was over, she went to talk to her mom.

“Hey mom can I talk to you”?  asked the little girl

“Yeah sure” “what’s up”? said the mom

“The kids at school are wearing different cloths then me and I want to fit in” can you buy me those cloths and get ride of the ones from my old home?” said the little girl.

“ yeah I can. What do they wear other then cloths?” asked the mom

“ They wear normal cloths. Have you seen a show that is like the ones in America?” Asked the little girl

“Yeah I have but we can go shopping after we eat dinner okay.” Said the mom.

Finally they ate dinner and went to the store and bought some different cloths where she would fit in with the others at school. When she went to school the next day she was so surprised that other kids said “hey I like your new outfit and shoes.” She went home all happy and excited that she got come compliments about her outfits. The little girl and her mother was so happy that she actually fits in now then she did. She really never liked it at her new school but she knew that she had to stay there. They all knew that she was from a different country then all of the others.

One year later…

The little girl and her mother had to move back to there home town. Only because she was acting different. Her mother was very concern about her little daughter. Then she became a teenager and was acting her own little way when she was a little girl. When she was at school a new boy came and she felt in love with him, after a month of liking him she asked him out. She went to his house to ask him out.

Then he said yes. And asked how did you find my house? Then the girl felt really curious why he asked that. Then they girl and the boy were happy and found a lot of stuff to do around their country. When the girl and her boyfriend were out, they found a really nice house that they wanted when they get older. The girl have told her mom about her first boyfriend. Her mom felt left out because the daughter was her little baby. And her mom are having a rough time with there family.

Two years later…
It was at that time when the family got a divorce. The daughter lived with her boyfriends house, the mom lived at her moms house. And the father stayed at the house because he owned it. When they all moved to some other houses they got to do what ever they wanted, they were so happy. When they daughter wanted a kid her boyfriend did not want one yet because they were still in school. They wanted to wait until they graduated high school.

4 years later…
It was about time that the daughter and the boy moved out and had a kid it was a little girl. The little girl looked just like her father. When they got home they all thought to themselves that they would not be safe here, after awhile of getting settled in the house they were right they were not going to be safe here, it became a really bad snowstorm coming in. It finally got into Cailfornia, when it got to the town that they are in it got even worse, they had to quickly move out and leave and move to their parents house.

5 years later…

When they got to their house they knew that they were in danger. There was a horrible storm coming. They lived by a lake where is floods all the time when it storms. Only because it is that time of year when it starts flooding so every one starts getting worried that their house will flood. When it was raining they were really scared because of all the thunder, lighting and rain.
