Christmas

Stockings are hung,

Carols are sung.

It’s a cold night.

The tree is full of light.

Santa is riding,

while presents are hiding

The snow is glistening,

and the children are listening

To sleigh bells ring.

Teens are standing

under the mistletoe

while It’s starting to snow.

Cookies are baking,

And the children are making

Christmas lists for Santa

While drinking their Fanta.

Valentines Day

Chocolates are picked out with care,

As love birds dance around the fair.

All the girls do their hair,

As the boys start to prepare.

Boys chose out the teddy bears with care,

in the hopes their girlfriend will like, thats fare.

Hearts are filled with love and care,

As the couples sit and stare,

As they look at each other with a romantic glare.

Easter

Bunnies hop around the grass,

As the kids start to laugh.

The chocolate piles up to the sky,

As kids are on a sugar high.

The grass is cut fine and pristine,

As the wives start to spring clean.

The men take out their grills to cook,

For Easter dinner, come and look.

The easter eggs hide high, and low,

When kids find eggs they say, Woah!

Baskets are filled with gifts and toys,

For all the little girls and boys.

Jump Rope, chalk, and jelly beans,

Thats what the Easter bunny brings.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is today,

We bow our heads and pray.

Everyones ready to eat,

Not just turkey, but all kinds of meat.

Pumpkin pie is what we'll eat,

Cause pumpkin pie just can't be beat.

After we eat our bellies are full

With pumkin pie and jelly rolls.

Relatives come from near and far,

Not just by plane but by car.

Thanksgiving is a day to say thanks,

So bow your head and say grace.

Birthday

Today we celebrate when you were born,

So sound the trumpet and blow the horn.  

Cake and ice cream is what we will eat,

Its always the birthday treat.

The gifts you wanted wrapped and bagged,

I promise that you won't be sad.

Blow out the candle and shut off the light,

Dont you dare tell me your wish tonight.

Your birthday is over, but don't be sad,

You will have one next year, and you will be glad.

New Years

Its a brand new year,

so It’s time for you to cheer.

The year is over now,

I really don't know how.

It went by so fast.

It never seemed to last.

I hope you all enjoy your new year,

Now go celebrate your new year.

When the ball drops,

We all start to hop.

The clock strikes 12,

now everyone yells,

its 2015.

Minneapolis 4-H Trip

Minneapolis 4-H Trip

I have been in 4-H for six years now.  With 4-H, comes many different opportunities including the chance to go to Minneapolis this past year.  I made the decision to go during late winter.  I knew that it would be a totally different experience going to another state without my family.  I did bring along one of my close friends, Josie Denning.  We planned and packed months ahead of time, even though most of our schedule was already planned for us.  Only kids in grades seventh and eighth could attend, and you had to be from region 17.  

On day one, both of us went to school until about 12:30.  My dad picked us up from school and took us to Wings where the charter bus was picking us up.  There were several kids there, but only three from Avoca.  Council Bluffs, Underwood, Neola, and Minden kids were already on the bus.  Harlan and Oakland kids also got on with us.  We knew it would be a long ride, so we brought along electronics, blankets, and snacks.  There were televisions on the bus, so we watched a lot of movies!

When we first got there, we went to the Science Museum of Minneapolis.  We stayed the night there.  It was amazing! There was a 30-foot tall dinosaur sculpture and lots of different modern art sculptures.  The giant room quickly filled with the salty smell of freshly popped popcorn.  We had about two hours to just explore.  We took pictures of practically everything! I didn’t think I was going to like this part, but I ended up really enjoying it.  We had to wake up really early the next day.  Surprisingly, it wasn’t really hard because the floor wasn’t a very comfortable bed.  We all prepared ourselves; we knew we had a long day ahead of us.

After we all got ready, we headed downstairs to this huge room with a stage.  There was a lady on the stage with a lab coat and goggles on.  We watched a video about tornadoes.  Soon after she told us she was going to make a tornado.  Surely enough, she did.  Next, she proceeded to make lightning.  She had volunteers hold metal rods.  All of the kids had these special yellow gloves on.  They stood about eight feet apart from each other, and the lightning transferred throughout all of their poles.  She also made a very bright rainbow appear on the wall.

After the show, we got back on the charter bus and headed to the Mill City Museum.  When I first stepped into the building I remember it smelling really old and dusty.  All of the walls were made out of wooden boards.  We went on an elevator tour, which was kind of cool.  It showed us the history of the museum.  There were lots of loud parts when I jumped out of my seat.  We were really high above everything.  It felt like we were above the whole city.  They told us all about the history of the city.  It got kind of boring after awhile.

            Then, we headed to our hotel.  It was probably about 12 stories high.  There was a beautiful, tall waterfall in the middle of the main floor.  They had a huge pool and even a Starbucks in the lobby area.  Everybody that walked by us was wearing fancy business suits.  There were four glass elevators that took us up to our room on the ninth floor.  There were two bedrooms, a living room area, and a kitchen in our room.

            We got about a half an hour to spend at the hotel before we headed to Mall of America.  We quickly had to decide what we wanted to do at the mall because we only had two hours.  I had never been there before, so it was really overwhelming.  There were people everywhere.  There was a roller coaster and lots of other rides.  We were on the second floor, and we could see a flash mob getting started below us. There were probably 100 people dancing.  They had the music really loud.  Everyone was looking at them like they were crazy.

            We didn’t get back to the hotel until about 10:00 p.m.  I went straight to my room and went to sleep.  The next day, we woke up bright and early.  This was our last day in Minneapolis.  I went downstairs to smell the aroma of breakfast being cooked.  They had everything you could imagine.  There were pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, ham, fresh fruit, eggs, toast, hash browns, yogurt, French toast, doughnuts, bagels, and lots of other stuff on the buffet.  You could also get made-to-order food.  It was so yummy!

            Next, we headed to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.  We quickly walked through the plants first.  Different smells filled the dome shaped room.  After we walked out of there, we went to see the gorillas, giraffes, zebras, and lots of others.  There wasn’t near as many animals as our zoo has, but it was a nice little zoo.  The polar bear was my favorite.  He could do tricks.  The whole time we were there, he was doing back flips against the wall.  I put my hand up to the glass to compare his paw with my hand.  His paws were huge!

            After the zoo, he got back on the charter bus and headed home.  I slept most of the way home because I knew we had school the next day.   It was around 6 p.m. on Sunday when we got back to Avoca.  We had to drop a couple of people off on the way.  Overall, I had a blast.  It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.  I would go back to Minneapolis in a heartbeat.  It was an amazing trip!

Vampire

Once upon a time there was this little boy, older brother, and sister. Their parents both went out hunting and gathering for the children that night, but when the parents left they always tell the kids to lock the door. They thought nobody was out in the forest but them. They were wrong!! Their parents never came back that night. They were very worried, but they were like dad is an expert hunter. They weren't worried at all, so they went to bed. They woke up, and their parents still were not back. They were getting really hungry, so the oldest brother went out to get food. and he seen both of them laying on the ground dead he looked at them and cried but he seen two strange markings on their necks se he looked at them closer and it was two big holes, its a vampire he said. He dug holes for his parents and though the bodys in there he covered them up and went back to the house.

The next day, they started packing up all of their things to get ready for the 100 mile hike that they had ahead of them, so they got all of their things and got all of the food everything  that they could bring with them. They all were outside the house, and the older brother said well here we go no turning back now and the little girl said I don't wanna leave what if mommy and daddy come back to life they won't they're dead so lets get as much hiking and we can and get this over with we can get the cops and tell them what happened and they can check it out so they started their trek up the mountain it was starting to get dark and they started seeing strange things happen so they all stopped the oldest brother said we have to make a shelter and fast so the oldest sister started to work on the fire and the rest of them started to get shelter made get broken branches for the fire and she stuff that they need. Finally it was dark and it was a full moon that night and all the wolves were howling at the moon and all of the little creatures were coming out for a midnight snack especially the vampire gang there was five of them one had a pack of cigarettes in his hand that was jim bob the second one had a golden chain that dragged when he walked that was theona, the third one was riding a unicorn that was whone he was a big boy, the fourth one was a midget he rode his pony his name was cuddles and last but not least they was the biggest vampire of all, he always had his teddy bare that smelled like strawberries his name was jirome.

They seen the kids around the campfire and and jim bob I need to light my cigarette. All of the children screamed but the vampires all looked at them why are you guys screaming and then theona was like ya homie why you screaming dog come on lil homie dont scream i'm the nicest one out of all of us here whone was the one who sucked a girls and boys blood last night the children all gasp. The vampires said what's wrong with that, thats what we do and if any of you get cut and we see or smell your blood your dead theona was like ya homie ur gone boyyyy. But that boy and girl where our parents they started crying. Theona was like i'm sorry boy i didn't know homie.  

So that night the kids went to sleep and the vampires went went away so they thought     

Attack of the Giant Space Aliens

In the county of Boblandia there is a kid named Bob he is the king of Boblandia.

He is a great leader he has made a way for everyone happy and have christmas once a month. But an alien space ship landed in the middle of Boblandia. The alien sent an sos message to the mother ship the people of Boblandia managed to chase it into the woods. Bob had no idea what to do he had never even had a army. But he was best friends with the leader of a far off race of alien hunters called predators. The king of the predators sent his best soldier named exhjklhg which just so happens to translate into Bob. exhjklhg was on his way immediately to protect the village from the alien.

            When he got there he asked his translator to tell Bob “ i am here to hunt down this evil alien and take it back with me to receive punishment from our king for terrorising the human race here on earth. It is against the treaty of space peace to terrorize any race from another planet.” Bob asked what kind of punishment he would receive. “ his punishment will depend on how well he cooperates,” responded exhjklhg.

“if he goes willingly he will only spend a little time in jail and be released later this year.”

Then exhjklhg left and began his search. he used heat vision that was built into his stone  mask he use a invisibility device so he could not be seen by the alien that he was hunting. he hunted through the jungle and he searched for days though the  endless seeming jungles of the planet of Alor. he tracked him and hunted him then he saw a heat signature far of in the distance

You Bury Them When They’re Alive

The outside world is wild;

Things are very mysterious,

But they are lovely.

Alive, they arrive.

Alive and dead they are.

Dead they will become.

There are lots of them,

But everyone has a place

Inside and outside.

They all are special.

There are many types of them,

And all are needed.

Pretty and ugly,

So many shapes and colors.

Big and small they show.

Green and brown they grow,

But still everybody knows.

We love them dearly.

Dull and blue they rest.

Smooth and spiky they occur.

Bright and red they live.

Unique things build on;

Berries may grow on to them;

Leaves may fall from them.

They don’t eat any food;

Cause they don’t appear with mouths,

But they have to eat.

Their food is water.

Careful, they may always drown,

At any point in time.

Let them have freedom;

They need to grow and advance,

To mature livings.

They need to be here.

They must help us through our times,

Even though hard and easy.

They live in brownness.

Mostly they grow together.

They live inside the earth.

They can’t fly nor slither.

They do move, but have no legs.

Humans help them live.

Stems they always have.

They don’t ride, but have pedals.  

They are indeed plants.

White Rain Trouble

Trouble is brewing.

All things falling from above.

It’s cold but lovely.

It’s late in the year.

The sun is covered by clouds,

Wind and fall take over.

The tree’s are baring;

Flowers and plants are dying;

Coats and gloves come out.

Days now seem shorter;

It is getting dark earlier.

Darkness is all around.

Winter is upon;

Cold and wind are everywhere.

Most things are frigid.

Frost covers the ground;

White rain keeps sliding nether,

It’s mostly settle.

Till lots fall at once,

Completely different things,

You can’t see the ground.

Wind wallops up more;

Five inches of fluff cover the ground.

There is only white.

Hot chocolate lovers come;

Marshmallows will fill their cups.

Piping steam rises up.

It was lots of snow,

Even a small blizzard happened,

In the wind and cold.

Now go make snowmen;

Go enjoy the white soft fluff,

While it lasts this frost.

The Hike

A group of friends are going on a hiking trip. The hiking trip is in the Rocky Mountains. The mountains were so treacherous it was so bad that they had to use a helicopter to get where they started hiking. The climb will be dangerous. They are climbing up the side of the mountain.

The friends were Billy, Jordan, Joe, and the leader was Troy. They were best friends through thick and thin. Nothing could break their friendship. On the first day of their hike, they were going through The Cave of 1000 Monsters. On the second day of their seven day quest, they were traveling through the Troll of the East to get across the bridge that hangs over the river of Doom.

On day third of their quest, they had come to a valley of flying bats. They beat them the same way they beat the Troll. They killed them all. So now, they were off to the Neverland Castle where they would get the The Great Sword. They had to fight dragons on the fourth day. The only way to kill them is with the sword of greatness. They were the worst dragons in the world.

It took them two days to kill them all on their quest. Now, they are going up the mountains. They were all climbing up the side of the mountain. They were climbing and suddenly, Troy looks back for his friends, and they weren’t behind him. He thinks it was the roaring blizzard that took them away.

He knew that it would take more than the days they had in their quest. He was not leaving without his best friends. The weather was harsh, but it was sometimes nice. The weird part was they were

looking for him on the other side of the mountain. They were trying to find one another. It was a long winter of trying to find each other. It was the worst winter of their life. They thought they were gone forever. Troy left the mountains.

Troy went on with his life and started a business and became a millionaire. He now owns four companies. The other three were trapped in the mountains. They were missing for ten years. They were making houses in the mountains, they were having good food to eat having a nice life.

They were still looking for Troy. They weren’t alone, they saw human footprints they knew they weren’t troy’s, they're too big to be his. They were scared that they were not alone. They thought maybe there was another person on the mountain. There was another person, a witch came by their candy made house.

She fattened them up. Then she tried to put them in her oven. But then the new person pulled out a shotgun and killed the witch. The world was full of demons and creatures. That’s what the man who killed the witch said. The man had no name at all. They came and lived with the man, and he has been there for twenty years.

The man said the same thing happen to him. The guys were baffled about the story. Now they were a team with the man who saved their lives. Now, it is ten years later in life and troy came back to look for them. He never found them and it brought tears to his eyes.

He will never get over losing his three best friends in the whole wide world! He has a good life ,but it will never be complete with out his best friends in his life. A few months later Troy ends up killing himself right before his friends come out of the mountains, and then his friends discover his body. When they got back to his house, they all got killed by the guy with no name. The guy with no name now goes back to the mountains. He awaits another group to kill.  The next, group is a team of agents looking for the person who killed all the guys. There is four agents.

Their names are Emma, Zoey, Mike, and Dan. They are the best team in the C.I.A. The team has solved more cases than any other team in the C.I.A. They have seen everything on a crime scenes. You name it, to murders and bodies. So, they set off and went on their journey. Just like the other people, they had a lot to accomplish. It took seven days to get where they were, on the way Dan took one for the team and went on the bridge that hangs over the river of doom.

He was walking across and one of the planks broke and he was falling. Mike thought he was gone for good. Lucky, Dan grab on to a route that came out of the cliff. Dan is climbing back up the cliff. Mike is trying to help him. Dan is so close to Mike’s out stretched hand. Mike say jump I can catch you. So, Dan jumps and mike mississ him by a inch. Now, they devastating because that was their leader.

Now they have no leader and They think they might go home. Well, that is just what they did. It took a long time to get back to the C.I.A. It took even longer to get over Dan. After, Dan died the team broke up and went their separate ways. Emma she became a real estate agent. Zoey she stay with the C.I.A. Mike now makes movies now.

He is a milliore now. He made a movie about his trip into the mountains. That was the start of his movie career. Then, it took off and he has work with Tom Cruise. He has work with many actor in the past years. The old team meets up again and all die.

The killer is the boss that they work for 30 years. I the end the boss goes to jail for life.
