Spiral

Spiral

“Here we go guys,.Thirty-four zebra strike on two on two” says Drew as the team breaks the huddle, Drew scans the field looking for a crease in the defense. Just as Drew gets under center he spots a gap between the safeties. They don’t adjust by the time he had said hike once come on stay there prays Drew in his head then it went black.
48 hours earlier- “Drew Callahan is a top contender for being the number one prospect in NCAA top 100 college recruits coming out of high school” proclaims ESPN analyst Jay Gruden. “As we view his top 10 schools we see that he has Michigan, Oregon, Stanford, Clemson, Alabama, West Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Ohio State” stats Jay. As Drew was watching this he realized that he could actually be the best in high school football. He immediately shut off the T.V and charged down to the school to practice. When he got to the school, Sacramento High School, he saw 10 marked vehicles from the NCAA. As he approached the door he encountered a man in a business suit talking to the head coach.
He couldn’t tell who it was but heard him say this. “ If he wants to get a scholarship to any of these schools he must get his grades up and he has to do so before the NCAA national signing day exactly three weeks from today. As Drew backed away from the door the NCAA associate spotted him and asked if he could have a talk. “ Listen kid you need to get your grades up big time if you want to have a shot at any of these schools, we know you have improved a lot but maybe you should consider some other lower quality colleges like Iowa, or Nebraska”.
“What are you saying, there isn’t enough time for me to get my grades up”. complains Drew “ No no no no no thats not what we are saying at all but you need to get started immediately maybe its worth it to take a few weeks off from football you might fall to number 50 though but you would have more time” counters the NCAA official. “ but that would mean no full ride” “my family can’t afford to supply that kind of money” says Drew.  “ Well I don’t know what to tell you talk it over with your family and decide and you only have two week so you should probably go home and study” says the NCAA official. Before he could finish Drew stormed off the local college, California Berkeley. There he met with the dean and was able to get a part time tutor. By then it was 11:00 pm on Thursday night and was less than 24 hours away from his last game of his high school career he would play in the state championship game in the Rose Bowl.
Home of one of Drew’s interested schools UCLA. With less than 5 mins to go before the game Andre Bell “one of the best receivers and corners in high school football and Drew’s best friend.” Bell started off by saying good luck and he had something to say after that Drew didn’t have time to respond because the Announcer had said his name on the loudspeaker queuing Drew to charge out of the tunnel. The opposing team Stanford Highs’ offense would march down the field in 20 plays and took the whole first quarter. It was clear that there plan was to keep the ball out of Drews hands. Then it was Drew’s turn, he did as he predicted having a perfect drive going 7/7 67 yards and one TD.
Only one minute remained in the second quarter. Stanford high once again drove down again to make the score 13-7 after the failed 2pt conversion. Drew’s offense halted after a solid adjustment made by stanford high to double cover Andre Bell for the remainder of the game. No one scored for the rest of the half and third quarter. with only three minutes left in the game Stanford high had the ball and Sacramento high was out of timeouts. They needed a miracle Stanford high broke the huddle and knew one more first down would end the game.
They gave the ball to All American running back Geno Garfield. He was just three yards away from the first down when. SMACK he lost the ball as he was blindsided by Andre Bell jarring the ball out and recovering on the fifty-yard line. The crowd went ballistic sending the entire state of California into an unnatural earthquake. There is only one minute left after Stanford ran out the clock and Sacramento doesn’t have any timeouts left. “Here we go ladies and gentlemen we couldn’t have asked for a better game” says the announcer over the loudspeaker.
Drew runs into the huddle and says “45 razor HB swing on two” they break the huddle and Drew scans the defense for a hole he spots one between the linebackers. The double snap count doesn’t work finally Drew says hut for the second time. Then it turns into chaos as Drew fires a crossing route into the RB hands then he pitches it back to Andre Bell, who ran a crossing route to but from the other direction. The announcer belt over the loudspeaker “He could go all the way to 40 to the 30 to the 20, 15, 10 , 5 and finally stops at the two yard line.” Drew races back to the line waiting for his offense to get set, he looks at the clock and sees only 15 seconds left tick tick tick only 10 seconds, his O-line finally gets there tick tick tick 5 seconds and out of the blue Stanford calls a timeout. With two seconds left.
Drew jogged over to the coach for the play, and he explains that they wanted to shift their defense that’s why they called the timeout. Drew charges to the huddle and says “Here we go guys 34 zebra strike on two on two” as the team breaks the huddle Drew scans the field looking for a crease in the defense. Just as Drew gets under center he spots a gap between the safeties. They don’t adjust by the time he had said hike once “come on stay there” prays Drew in his head then it went black.
Drew is immediately stormed by a flood of defenders Drew sprinted to the left and got a block from the left tackle Drew snapped his head up to look for a receiver they were all on a jam.
Drew did the only thing he could do sprint backwards 10 yards to evade the rush now he had sometime to throw with all the comeback blocks from the line he scrambled up to the original line of scrimmage scanned the field and saw only one receiver Andre. Without a second thought, he hurled it into the defender infested endzone it was a five vs one contest. Andre jumped at the sametime as the rest of the defense no one saw who came down with it. It turned into a massive pile.
It took the refs only about 30 seconds to get the loose players of but, it took 3 minutes to get Andre and the rest off. The main Referee charged to center field and said “the ruling on the field is a interception by the defense the previous play is under further review.
Everyone waited on the edge of their seat then the official finally came out.
“The ruling on the field is reversed the WR had complete control of the ball going to the ground and two feet inbounds the result of the play is a touchdown” says the ref. The stadium had gone beyond defining. The extra point was good which made the final score 14-13 Sacramento High
a few years later- Drew would then commit to the University of California Berkeley along with Andre Bell. Drew would then go on to win four national championship. he would be picked number one overall in the 2017 NFL draft and win 6 super bowls with the Arizona Cardinals and be named into the Hall of Fame and could one day be name the best of all time along with his best friend Andre Bell who claimed records for most rec yards, most REC TDs, most all purpose yards, most REC TDs and yards in a game and career.

My Life

I was born on March 20th, 2001 in Omaha at a hospital called Bergan Mercy and that’s where all my siblings were born. When I was a baby my dad had a job and we lived in a house from what I can remember it was a big house. Then one day we moved in to my grandpas house and lived there for a while. After that my mom and dad were not getting along and they had decided that it was not good for me and my brother to be around when they were fighting. So they decided to split up and be friends and see how that worked out
Well Dad and Mom had come to an agreement that it was for the best that they split up and that mom would get my brother and I.  I can go see my dad every weekend and on some holidays. This all occurred when I was three or four, and I remember very little of it. After that my mom, my brother, and I moved in with my grandpa and grandma on my mom’s side of the family. It was fun there; we lived in a house that was pretty big from what I can remember and it had a pool in the backyard.
After a few years my mom, my brother, and I got a new apartment and stayed there for a while. I remember when I was like 6 years old my brother and I were sleeping in my moms room. Then, my mom got us a bed in the other bedroom and at first we didn't like it but then we got used to it and it was just another day. Then after a long long time of being in the apartment my mom and my grandpa and my grandma went to a bar called the Red Eye in West Omaha. They were visiting from what I heard and thats when they met Ralph. At first they just thought of him as just an ordinary bartender, but after awhile of going to the redeye, ralph asked my mom on a date. Then my mom said i’m not ready for a relationship and then Ralph didn't give up he asked her again. She said yes and then we got a call and it was Ralph now at the time I didn't know Ralph and I answered the phone and Ralph said hello and I said
“who is this?” And Ralph said
“Ralph” and I said
“Oh are you the guy thats taking us to the Pizza Machine?” And he said
“Yea im taking you to the Pizza Machine” Then I said
“Oh can I go to?”
Now when I look back I think why would two adults got to the Pizza Machine without their kids?! So we went to the Pizza Machine and it was a blast first we ate dinner in the place where you watch movies, then thats when all the fun started up I can't remember much but what I do remember is going on this frog ride and it would take me up and then drop down, and I was so frightened as my mom and Ralph giggled at me. Even the guy controlling the ride couldn't help but chuckle a little. Then me and my aunt Lisa rode a go-cart around the track at the Pizza Machine, I remember thinking that we were going to crash for sure. Then when we were going around the track Ralph bumped into us it was super funny.
Then after that my mom and Ralph took my aunt Lisa my brother and I back to the apartments and Lisa watched us while Ralph and mom went on a date. But I don't know where they went. Then after that awesome day my mom asked us what we thought of Ralph and we thought he was awesome! So after a while we went To Ralph’s apartment and mom had said yes and all that good stuff. So we went to ralphs apartment and stayed there for a while and then my brother and I found out that we will be moving in with Ralph soon.
My brother and I were excited to move in with Ralph and my mom was happy to. Ralph treated us good and was good to us. From what I remember there, there was one bedroom in Ralphs apartment with a big bed in it and a closet. We stayed up late that night and watched movies until we fell asleep and we also made a homemade pizza that night and they were good. I don't really remember what we did the next morning except eat breakfast and we were watching a show.
I also remember mom cleaning out our room and scrubbing the paint that me and my brother slabbed on the wall. Also before we moved in with Ralph there was a bar in the closet of our room. Me and my brother did pull ups on it. I also remember Ralph buying us toy cars that were really big and were remote control. They were also really fun to play with to. I remember we really didn't know how to ride them at all but we always tried until they broke. Then on thanksgiving Ralph met my grandparents and and all my aunts and uncles.
After that thanksgiving we went and met Ralphs parents. And thats where we met our awesome step cousin and played with him. We also met our step uncle and step grandparents and they were all family as soon as we met them. Then we were talking about buying that house because Ralphs parents were moving back were they used to live. In that was El,Paso Texas, the house was really big I loved it there. There was a big porch and a good sized yard.

I really love my family and my friends, i'm am thankful for all that they have given me. My birthdays have always been the best and so have my christmases. Ralph has gave me all the things that I need and mostly all the things I want. Ralph helps me with my homework and lets me do fun things if i'm good. Ralph also got me a four wheeler and a go-cart. He got me the go-cart for my birthday when I was eight years old. And he got me a 4-wheeler just because he could and we wanted one. Well thats not all of my life, not even most of it but its been a good one so far!!!

Seasons

Seasons

Summer is here;
Kids are laughing.
School is over,
And the time is passing.

Softball and Baseball season is here,
Everyone is starting to cheer.
Children in the pool are splashing and playing,
While the adults are on the side just laying.

Soon the pool closes,
And the sweaters come on,
No more having to mow the lawn.

The leaves are changing color,
And starting to fall.
They are piling higher and higher;
They look like a wall.

Halloween is here;
Pumpkins are made.
Kids get scared,
And decorations displayed.

The trees are bare,
And the leaves have fallen.
Winter takes over,
And out goes autumn.

Nights are long,
Days are short.
The air is cold,
And the coffee is bold.

Thanksgiving rolls by,
And out comes the pie;
Fresh and warm,
During the snowstorms.

As we watch the snow drift down,
It slowly hits the ground.
It glistens bright and white,
And it snows all through the night.

We drink hot cocoa,
And play in the snow,
With our gloves and mittens,
And fuzzy kittens.

Christmas time is here;
Everyone is full of cheer.
Candy canes are on the tree,
And the winter smell surrounds me.

As we watch the snow pile up,
We all cuddle up,
Wrapped warm in our blankets,
And soft fluffy jackets.

We hang ornaments on the tree,
And spend time with our family.
Christmas spirit all around,
While Santa Clause comes to town.

Christmas morning has arrived,
All the kids will soon be surprised,
With all of the gifts they unwrap,
They will need a little nap.

Winter is drifting into spring,
It is such a beautiful thing.
Flowers are blooming on the trees,
And bees are stinging all over me.

The snow is gone,
So birds sing their song.
They sing loud and proud,
Up into the clouds.

The weather gets warmer,
And the kids get louder,
Sun gets brighter,
And out blooms the flowers.

The year has gone by fast,
It never did seem to last.
There is lots or reasons,
To love the four seasons.

There was sun and rain,
And snow and frost,
But now the time is lost,
Within the seasons.

Oct. PPOW Seasons

Spring

The animals are all around.
Some in the air some on the ground,
the animals are coming back.
Hopefully they can find a snack.
The trees are wearing flowers,
and the ground is soggy from snow.
The newborn explore for hours
then they prance around to put on a show.
Clouds are high and low,
with rain instead of snow.
Flowers bloom all around
on the new grassy ground.
The Easter Bunny will come our way,
eggs will be in vision for just one day.
As the spring passes by,
it waves goodbye.
Then summer will come,
along with so much fun.

Summer

Spring has now gone,
summer has come along.
School is out,
so the children play about.
The temperature has gone from 60 to 81.
The pool will be so much fun.
Families will spend time with each other.
They might make lemonade or just get a glass of water.
Then go back for another,
as the day gets hotter.
Summer nights are nice.
With starry skies clear as ice.
Nearing the end of summer
is always such a bummer.
As summer melts away,
fall is on its way.

Fall

From summer to fall,
leafs will fall.
The leafs change color all season long,
while grass turns brown on the lawn.
Farmers harvest crops
before the temperature drops.
Parents rake piles of leafs up to their knees,
and kids jump in them if they please.
Then people dress up for Halloween,
every age from one to thirteen.
People come together for Thanks Giving.
Visiting family and all day they’re dining.
The goodies that people bake
can be really hard to make.
Now it’s fall, but it can’t be here to stay.
Soon it will be winter and I can’t wait another day.

Winter

Leafs are hidden under a blanket of snow.
It is hard to believe fall was a few months ago.
Kids are outside
going for a sleigh ride.
Snowmen are in the yard,
now white with glittery snow.
It shines like a shard
from a broken glass window,
It’s cold and wet,
but winter is not over yet.
There are goodies and treats
that the whole family eats.
Soon the snow turns to water,
while the months get hotter.
The cycle starts anew
and the year is new.

All the Seasons
Every season is great.
No one can wait.
Each is tons of fun,
with things to do at home or on the run.
There are celebrations for every event.
A season wherever people may have went.
Different weather for each one to show,
winter is cold with snow;
while summer is hot and dry,
during fall, it’s cool and leafs float by.
Spring is rainy and wet
but none have happened yet.

Megalodon Shark

Megalodon Shark

Megalodon sharks are the biggest sharks in the ocean and is thought to be extinct. There are 4 versions of the megalodon sharks; carcharodon carcharias-small, rhincodon typus-average, carcharodon megalodon-conservative, carcharodon megalodon- maximum. The megalodon is 50 ft long. The megalodons’ teeth each is about 7in. long. The megalodon may just have the most powerful bite in history. The megalodon was over 60 ft. and would eat giant whales. Instead of going for the soft tissue like the under belly like great white sharks; the megalodons’ teeth was built to bite through tough cartilage so they go for the top fin and tears right through it.
The megalodons’ fossils have been found all over the world unlike other marine animals which are restricted to just the coastlines. The meaning of Megalodon is BIG TOOTH.
